In order to qualify for the Special Artist Division, the student must have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of that person.
Option 1: Students can compete in the traditional divisions and can enter in grade that closely aligns to their functional abilities but will receive NO accommodations.
Option 2: Special Art Division will NOT be divided by age or traditional school grade level. The student should create their own artwork but may receive non-artistic accommodation and assistance from an adult. A parent or teacher cannot involve themselves with the artistic process but may assist with typing, holding a camera, explaining the theme, etc… If a student is nonverbal, you may write in the Artist Statement - "Student is non verbal and can not provide an artist statement"
You may advance up to 4 entries per category in the Special Artist Division: Visual Arts, Photography, Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Musical Composition.
